2. Information we may collect
We may process your name, contact details, location, CV, employment history, education, skills, salary expectations, right to work information, role preferences, interview notes, references, professional profiles and communications with us. Where relevant and lawful, we may also process diversity information, health or adjustment information, or criminal record information.
3. Where information comes from
Information may come directly from you, job boards, professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn, referrals, clients, publicly available sources, previous applications or recruitment partners. We will take reasonable steps to tell you when we obtain your information from another source.
4. How and why we use it
We use candidate information to assess suitability, discuss opportunities, represent candidates to clients with appropriate authority, arrange interviews, obtain feedback, verify information where appropriate, maintain recruitment records, improve our service, meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
5. Our lawful bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on legitimate interests in operating a recruitment service, steps taken at your request before entering a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. If we process special category information, we will also identify an appropriate additional condition under data protection law.
6. Who we may share information with
We may share relevant information with prospective employers, hiring clients, service providers supporting our systems, professional advisers, background check or reference providers where authorised, regulators, law enforcement bodies and other parties where required by law. We do not sell candidate information.
7. International transfers
Some clients, service providers or roles may be based outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, we will use an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual and organisational safeguards.
8. Retention
Candidate profiles will normally be retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact so we can consider you for relevant opportunities, unless a longer period is required by law or agreed with you. Placement, contractual, compliance and financial records may be retained for up to six years. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymised.
9. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us using the email above. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Automated decisions and updates
Connect does not currently make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on candidates. We may update this policy when our services, systems or legal obligations change.
